Another day, another supply run.

It felt beneath him if he was being honest. When Lorenzo was sent on these missions to the hardware store, he often couldn’t help but feel resentment at the trivial nature of the task. With the power of his tattoos, he could summon fire, gain the strength of a bear or move at the speed of a tiger. And yet here he was, back at the hardware store located in Cheltenham, getting timber and electrical supplies, along with a handful of other things on the list Gideon had provided.

He sighed as he stepped through the automatic doors, pushing the trolley in front of him. Of course, he knew that Gideon could trust nobody else with such a task – another might have figured out what all the supplies were going to be used for, which was an unacceptable possibility. Only Lorenzo could be trusted with the list.

Even the hardware store employees wouldn’t be allowed to see everything he needed, which was why Lorenzo had to get supplies from multiple stores. First, he’d collect the timber supplies from Cheltenham, as well as those electrical components. Then he’d head to another store for plumbing supplies, avoiding suspicion. If anybody worked out what they were building…

At the very least, it was nice to get out in something other than those stupid robes Gideon had him wearing all the time. For once, Lorenzo simply felt like an ordinary, heavily tattooed guy. He drew a few looks, of course, but one did not get as many tattoos as he had without a thirst for attention.

He gave the checkout lady a brief wave, and she smiled in return. After asking where he could find high-quality timber in the store and being pointed in the right direction, he was off to complete his task, hopefully without any trouble. Once he had the supplies, all he had to do was grab a few personal items so that he could complete a mission of his own. It was almost time to find out what had happened to Redman’s car.
