Remy had made quite a name for himself amongst the rats in the sewer networks all around Australia. He liked to think it was because the other rats revered his genius. After all, Remy had completed so many different projects around not only Melbourne, but every Australian sewer, that he had a lot to be thanked for.

It was therefore no surprise when he received a call from Rani, a rat in the northern sewers beneath a commercial solar installation company, who needed help finding materials and mobilising rats to complete their renewable energy project. Remy knew just what to do. He had put up posters all around the sewers that ended up being so popular he had a line of volunteers that stretched for several kilometres. It took days to interview them all! But he did it, because he was great.

Remy supposed he could pass some of his great ideas on to Rani, although he doubted the other rat would be able to execute them as well as he knew he would be able to himself. Perhaps he ought to visit Sydney and help Rani in person. The rat could certainly benefit from his close guidance and assistance. In fact, Remy knew all about the 500KW solar system cost after installing a similar system in his own luxury apartment a few years ago.

Yes, he decided. Visiting Rani would be best for everybody. Besides, Remy didn’t mind travelling at all. The ants had devised a brilliant way for rats to travel along the water streams in the sewers, and all he had to do was sit back and relax as the water carried him. It was faster than one might imagine a water stream in the sewer to be, especially in the smaller pipes, as the water was pushed through faster. Remy would be there by next week. He called Rani to let him know the new arrangements and was pleased – yet not surprised – to find that Rani sounded delighted.
